i love my robot

I bought a refurbished scooba for about $150. I know I know, it’s not as environmentally friendly as me actually cleaning my own home, but i just don’t bother to, and if you think about it i’m probably keeping a potential pandemic at bay with this thing. Plus it leaves me more time to read this nonsense you post. I don’t want to argue about the electricity it uses, nor any other “you wasted your money” stuff, i just wanted to say that i love it. It uses fuzzy-logic, and i find myself watchin

Hot Tips: Victoria’s Art Picks

Last week Two weeks ago I spent most of Monday in Victoria Smith’s apartment in San Francisco (you can see the video clip we did for the local television show here). Besides having a stunning apartment with an amazing Pacific Heights view, it was her art collection that stood out for me. Largely consisting of prints, her collection is contemporary, colorful, life affirming and eclectic (and affordable). It also documents her relationships over the years with family and friends in the blogospher

Real for Real?

With all our talk about photo real rendering, and the uncanny valley we seem to have missed this bizzare manifestation of our cultural desires for “real fakes.” Real Dolls and now, Real Babies are a growing phenomena. They are inanimate, but extremely life-like figures of grown women and babies that people buy to, essentially, take the place of a real person in their life. Men describe having very real emotional relationships to the dolls, and women describe experiencing the same emotional a

Guy likes his Roomba, writes a song about it

Mr. Pitiful really likes his Roomba. So much so that he wrote a song about it… and made a music video for it. It’s actually from about a year ago but sometimes songs about robotic vacuum cleaners take time to develop a following. I haven’t written a song about my Roomba yet, but that’s mostly because it constantly gets tangled up in the ends of my area rug and I’m pretty sure the battery is shot even though I’ve only used it a handful of times.
