From the creators that brought us the Roomba is coming another household-helping robot; this time one that mows the lawn. The rumor of such a robot has been spinning in the tech community for a long time and it was recently discovered that iRobot (the company that makes the Roomba) has designed and patented the Mowba. The grass-cutting robot seems to be very similar to the Roomba in design according to the patent. The filing contains several different versions of the robot, over which the comp

iRobot lawnmower patent discovered
July 7th, 2008 — blog, robomower
Robot Stock News has discovered a patent by iRobot for a “Lawn Care Robot” similar to the company’s line of robotic vacuum cleaners. You know, the kind that actually cut your entire yard in a reasonable amount of time even though you have to do all that inconvenient “walking” we’ve heard so much about. The biggest challenge for current and previous robotic lawnmower offerings has been how to

A NXT Amphibious Vehicle
Yesterday, it rained all day and we had two inches (5 cm) of flood around our house. We tried to make it so that it can crawl over rocks like the Pac

Those were great times at my grandparents all summer long. My grandfather would play “shark” and chase us around the pool. We would spend

Killer robots which can change their shape to squeeze under doors and through cracks in walls to track their prey are moving from the realms of science fiction to the front line in the fight against terrorism. The US military has signed a £1.6m deal with a technology firm to design robots which are intelligent enough to work out how to wiggle through small spaces to reach their target. The action film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, featured a seemingly unstoppable killer robot played by Robert
