It appears that spring has descended upon the Valley of the Sun. Gorgeous blue skies with not even a hint of clouds accompany the mid 80 temperatures making Phoenix simply irresistible to those 4 million plus residents who call this part of the Sonoran Desert: Home. With that in mind, I opened up all the sliding glass doors in the pad as well as all the windows and commenced some seriously needed spring cleaning. The carpets got a nice workover from Rosie the Roomba. She’s my savior. I love no

Please Don’t Kick the Robots

If you follow the futures blogosphere at all — or just read BoingBoing — you’ve undoubtedly seen this video of the “packbot” called Big Dog: It’s an interesting prototype, and a telling example of how rapidly we’re moving into the robotic age. First Kindly Impressions about My Kindle
March 29th, 2008 — blog, irobot
I ordered a Kindle about a month ago, and it finally arrived yesterday. The Kindle, Amazon.com’s new ebook reader, probably won’t set the literary world on fire. However, I ordered one anyway because as a publisher of electronic books I’m especially curious about it, because I think it may help beat back the stacks of books that sometimes overwhelm our living space, and because I’m hoping it will work well for reading on trips. My first impressions have been positive. It was easy to figure out
