Extended warranty service

Back in July of 2005, I bought a Roomba from the Home Shopping Network. It was a good price, and it was a model with a firmware that wasn’t yet available anywhere else. Because this was to replace a Roomba which had died, I went ahead and bought the extended warranty. As it happened the new Roomba failed in June of 2006, inside the manufacturer’s warranty period. The failure was in its charging circuit, which meant that it stopped being able to charge its battery. iRobot sent us a new one, with
