Online Shopping Junkie Shares Money-Saving Tip

I dont know if you’d call me a junkie, an addict or an expert when it comes to online shopping - but suffice it to say I buy a lot of products online. I even ordered my dishwasher online! This week I’m shopping for the iRobot Scooba, which is a pricey floor-cleaning robot that sweeps and mops for you. The latest model - the Scuba 380 - runs $499, but you can get the 350 model for $399. Of the 3 models they offer on their website, those were the 2 I had my eye on. Of course, I logged into eBay

The future of mowing, part 98

On Monday, there will be freshly mowed rough on the Members Course at St. James Plantation. That may not seem like huge news, but here’s the rub: The mowing will have been done by a robotic mower. Cue the dramatic music! Another robotic mower? Will we need Arnold as the T-100 once again, to battle these robotic monstrosities? Wait, wait, wait… we’ve got a CGCS in the field who’s been using it. And it sounds pretty good, actually. Conrad Broussard, CGCS, director of agronomy at St. James,

Almost Real Halo Energy Sword

I happen to have my own energy sword from halo in the form of a blue squishy keychain. I do so love it as I’m sure (read: hope) many of your do too. I also happen to collect real swords so this “real” energy sword is pretty nifty to me and I want it. It’s up for auction on eBay and it’s a life-sized replica of the Halo weapon. It’s 36”x14” and has a mirror finish stainless steel blade. If you happen to be the lucky winner of the auction you’ll get a collector’s card, a walnut wall plaqu

Lawnbott LB3200 New and Improved

You may recall the LB2000, a robot that will mow your lawn for you. Well, it’s been revamped and reintroduced as the LB3200 and has a new exciting feature. The new Lawnbott has added Bluetooth technology to its controls so that you can program and control it from anywhere via your cell or laptop. That comes in really handy when you’ve promised your wife you’d mow the lawn and yet you want to go out with you buddies instead, now you can do both. It works the same way as its predecessor and

Eye Implantable Camera being developed

There are not a lot of things that creep me out, but the short list of things that do are usually strange and improbable. The implantable bionic eye however, makes the list. I know it would be helpful but the thought just gives me the willies for some strange reason. UCLA developer, Michelle Hauer, and her team filed the patent for the camera (Intraocular Camera for Retinal Prosthesis) which is small enough to be planted on the eye’s lens. In turn that would be able to fed directly into th

What you’ve been waiting for… the Bluetooth Robotic Lawnmower!

When Tyler and I were talking about the future of Bluetooth some months back, we had a good time imagining future applications of the technology. The Bluetooth Dog Walker/Pooper Scooper, the Bluetooth Mug Warmer, even the Bluetooth Calorie Counter (stick it in a Big Mac and out comes the awful truth…) were all some of the late-night ideas that took my fancy. Something I don’t think EITHER of us even imagined is hitting the market at about $3200. Yes, you guessed it. The Bluetooth robotic lawn

Next Generation Lawnmower Robot

Next Generation Lawnmower Robot January 24, 2008 at 3:00 pm I will definitely be saving to get one of these the Lawnbott LB200 which has been upgraded can now cut on 30 degree slopes and manage areas up to 38,00 square feet. You use the included perimeter wire to set the boundary around the lawn edge, flowerbeds and bushes and can be preprogrammed when to start the mow.
